About Bertie
My interest in focusing on manual therapy as a career started nine years ago after years of working and running my own public relations company. Exhaustion and constant travelling led me to seek a completely new direction in my work and lifestyle. Having already practised Reiki for a number of years after discovering its enormous benefits when suffering from insomnia, as well as being a great advocate of massage itself, I completed my Diploma in Holistic Massage and Anatomy & Physiology with distinction and continued to advance my learning undertaking a diploma in Advanced Clinical Massage at the Jing Institute of Advanced Massage in Brighton. I am also qualified in Advanced Myofascial Release and continue to explore this fascinating world of 'fascia and movement and its relationship with pain' with the leading instructor in this field, Til Luchau from Advanced Trainings in Colorado. This enables me to focus on clients with chronic pain and health conditions and to help them to manage their pain. More recently I have enrolled to study the Bodymaster Diploma tutored by John Gibbons, Osteopath to the Oxford University Boat Club Rowing Team, author and world renowned sports therapy lecturer. I work with various sporting disciplines as a soft tissue therapist including events & I am also fully qualified in pregnancy massage & massage for oncology. |
